The Norfolk Botanical Garden's Eagle Cam is back up for the season. Just thought I would pass along the link.

There is a ranger with the Corps who has come up with some great cartoons to promote water safety. I have shared some of these in the past with some of you. I just thought I would let you know that the new cartoon (number 4) has been posted and I think it is cute.

I have entered Potter into a contest that supports the Humane Society. The money goes to help spay and neuter pets. Vote for Potter or enter your own pets. The money goes to a good cause.

Well it looks like the eagle cam at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens is back up for the 2009 season. After an eventful season last year ending with the chick having to be removed from the nest due to it contracting Avian Pox, the eagle pair abandoned its new nest and have returned to the one they have used for years. The camera equipment had to be moved and it was completed in DEC. The pair is in the process of fixing the nest and some mating has been observed. Once eggs are laid the hatching should take place about 35 to 37 days later. It is a great chance for you all to see what I get to watch our Falls Lake Eagle go through. If you get a chance check out the cam.

For those of you in or near Raleigh...

Tonight Tir Na Nog Irish Pub in downtown Raleigh will be hosting a Kilt Night and they have some great music lined up. At 7pm the evening starts with music from My 3 Kilts. Follow at 8.30pm by the Wake County Safety Pipes & Drums: And finally at 9PM the return of the great Albannah

Tickets are $7 in advance and $10 at the door. Unfortunatley the Whiskey Tasting and the Buffet are sold out but you can still come down and see the show. You will not be disappointed.

They are not your typical pipe and drum band. It is sort of like pipe and drums on steriods. They are a great group and always take time to talk to their fans. I dare you to sit there and watch them without wanting to move to the music. Below is a video taken of the group to give you an idea of their style. And for those of you who have heard me talk about Jamesie...he is the one rockin' the long hair. :) HOT!

So if you are in the area I hope you will stop by.

I've built a Web site on Shutterfly to share pictures from our Honeymoon to Scotland. The pictures are set up on a slideshow but if you want to see a larger version just click on the pictures. I haven't figured out how to tag them yet so if you want to know where a certain picture was taken just let me know. I will try to figure out how to tag them when I have some more time. Please come check it out! Enjoy! Rebecca

For those of you who do not read my Ranger Blog on Angelfire I thought I would post a link to some pictures I took of some baby foxes that have decided to make the dam where I work their new home. At first we thought there were three kits (baby foxes) but upon further inspection we have now discovered five. Mom must be finding enough food because they are all doing very well. Hope you enjoy the pictures.
